Hannover, Germany – April 06, 2016 – Visitors to this year’s Hannover Messe can experience in hall 8, booth D20 what the SmartFactoryKL and the German Research

Center for Artificial Intelligenz (DFKI) have developed during the past year together with 18 partners.

From April 25 to April 29, 2016, the partner consortium consisting of SmartFactoryKL, the DFKI and 18 renowned industry partners will show the third generation of the world’s first manufacturer-independent Industrie 4.0 plant.

The demonstrator shows how market-ready technologies already put the term “Industrie 4.0” into practice and which advantages the user has. The Trade Fair visitor will be introduced to relevant topics such as “Plug&Produce”, “Predictive Maintenance”, “Failure-Proof Maintenance”, “Scalable Automation” and “Supporting the Worker in the Production Environment” in a descriptive scenario: the Demo Show with impressive hardware modifications takes place daily at booth D20 at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm.

Thanks to its complete modularity and interoperability, the demonstrator realizes a flexible and efficient production. Digital product memories control the order processing starting with the product and enable a batch size of 1 in an efficient manner. The flexible networking of innovative IT systems ensures a high process transparency. As an actor in the environment of Industrie 4.0, the human is prepared for the change and supported with suitable technologies: according assistance systems accompany him during demanding mounting, training, operating or maintaining tasks and offer him suitable recommendations for action. - In conclusion: with our production plant, unique characteristics of Industrie 4.0 are already becoming reality today.

In the future, we will integrate our expertise in the field of digitalised production processes into the Mittelstand 4.0 competence Center Kaiserslautern. Especially mid-sized businesses from Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland should receive information on and support with the implementation of the Industrie 4.0 idea.
