Bangalore. January 7, 2014: Sentry Depressurization Systems Inc., specialists in transformer protection, have announced their entry into the Indian market. Their foray will commence through a network of regional distributors, to cover the country's key markets. The company will introduce its sub 6 milli seconds reaction transformer fire prevention device.

Mr Berkowitz announced that the company has received purchase orders from major transformer companies in India to provide the system to transformers they manufacture. Now that power utility corporations are also considering using FDS as standard equipment in the units that they procure as well as a retrofit on currently installed units, Sentry is in the advanced stages of negotiations with major Indian transformer companies to install the Sentry FDS as an OEM on their units. To meet Indian demand, for new transformers as well as the retrofitting of existing transformers, Sentry has entered into strategic distributor/VAR/System Integrator arrangement with reputed companies. Driven by the high demands in the international markets, Sentry has ambitious plans to start the facility in Bangalore."

Customers appreciate that the Sentry system addresses the industry's critical challenges, with a novel technology helping protect the power grid. FDS is recommended by the US based National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as a method of fire protection for transformers.

Existing transformers are easily retrofitted without tank machining by using the existing tank opening and unlike other systems no holding tanks or nitrogen injection systems are required.
