Schwing Stetter India launches Smarttec Sludge Pump System

Chennai, October 2016: Schwing Stetter India, one of the leading concrete equipment manufacturing companies in India has launched their newest product – The Smarttec Sludge Pump System which will be used to recycle sewage and sludge water for municipal applications. This product was launched at IFAT 2016, India’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling.

In India, there is a huge market for sustainable technologies in waste water treatment. On an average, we waste around 62,000 million litres of water on a daily basis. The SmartTec sludge pump will help to reliably convert sewage sludge, organic, industrial and kitchen waste into water that can be used for municipal purposes. This water can be used to water - parks, golf courses etc. and also be used for fountains.

The company note read: “Our Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has been emphasizing on cleaning India with the launch of the Swacch Bharat Campaign. With this objective in mind, Schwing Stetter India is entering into this new segment with the launch of the first ever high capacity, high volume ‘Sludge Pumps and Muck Pumps’. Schwing sludge pumps provide turnkey solutions for transport and storage of sludge as well as materials with high solid content”.

The KSP range of sludge pumps can be used for the following:

>> Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP) – Where sewage sludge is mechanically dewatered
>> Waste Recycling – Recycling waste sludge, oil sludge, salt mud and radioactive waste
>> Construction industry - Recycling Bentonite Clay mud Mortar tailings
>> Mines, Refineries and Power Plants – Recycling red mud, gold slime, iron sludge, zinc sludge, metallic oxide sludge and Fly ash
>> Chemical and Other industries - Recycling organic and inorganic materials, stabilize chemical waste, lime slurry, food-processing by-products and paint sludge.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Anand Sundaresan, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India said, “At Schwing Stetter, we focus on aligning our products with the need of our stakeholders being our customers and the Government.
