Pune, January 24, 2013: Sandvik Mining, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry set a new benchmark in the industry with the launch of its new innovation 'DS 421' at HZL Rampura Agucha Mines, Udaipur on January 15, 2013. Mr R R Kumar, Vice President, Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) inaugurated the machine DS 421 which is a next generation fully mechanized cable bolting rig in the mining industry.

Sandvik DS421 is a self-contained efficient cable bolting rig for rock re-enforcement in underground mines and tunnels with small and medium cross sections. The product's unique modular design simplifies training, operating and maintenance of the rig and helps in making it more efficient.

The product is exquisitely designed with the best of conventional and automatic method which can execute the whole operation safely. Its innovative carrier layout specifically contributes in the safety of accessibility and sets a cutting edge in the industry. The onboard instrumentation with depth measurement for whole length, cement hose and steel strand ensures high quality and integrity of cable bolts. DS421 is well equipped with automatic grout hose washing, bolting head oiler, and easy mixer cleaning which helps in reducing the time involved in maintenance and also helps in the longevity.
