Mr Sameer Gupta has been elected as the Chairman Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Uttar Pradesh Zonal Council for the year 2013-14.

Mr Sameer Gupta is the Managing Director of Jakson Group. Since 1947, Jakson is in the field of powergen in India and is today a USD 250 Mn group with around 1800 employees, having excellent infrastructure with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Daman, Greater Noida and Jammu. The company is into manufacturing and marketing of diesel and gas generating sets, control panels, LT switchboards, HT panels, acoustic enclosures, solar IPP, solar EPC, solar products, apart from undertaking turnkey EPC contracts and sub-station jobs.

Jakson has international presence and has offices in Singapore, Bangladesh and Nepal. In 2012, Jakson has diversified into field of hospitality and is investing in 3 boutique hotels in western part of India of about 80 rooms each in upcoming industrial areas.

Mr Gupta is a Graduate in Electronics Engineering and has also attended short-term management courses at IIM Ahmedabad and ISB, Hyderabad.
