Pune based Rochi Engineers has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Germany's PURItech GmbH & Co KG, a leading global supplier of Diesel Emission Control Products and Filter Cleaning Devices. The JV was structured by ALCOR M&A team part of ALCOR Fund. The Joint Venture company will set up an R&D centre and a state-of- the-art manufacturing facility in Pune which is expected to be completed by 2014 and would design and manufacture emission control cystems for diesel engines such as diesel particulate filters, catalytic converters, diesel oxydation catalyst systems, filter cleaning and detection devices.

The products are likely to serve the first-fit and retro-fit markets for on-road, off-road vehicles and power gen-set industry in India and overseas markets. In the on-road, category, the firm would cater to medium to heavy trucks, city and inter-state buses and will tap automotive majors including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Eicher Motors, Mahindra Navistar, Volvo, AMW and MAN Trucks. In the off-road category it would cater to the construction and mining segments and will target Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, JCB, Terex, Volvo and Case New Holland, as potential customers.
