The Auto Division of RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd, with manufacturing plants in Pune, Jamshedpur and Uttarakhand, and Rane Brake Lining Ltd (RBL), a Range Group Company, have received the prestigious Deming Prize. The Deming prize was conferred to both the Indian automotive tier suppliers at a ceremony held at Tokyo, Japan. While Mr. R K Behera, Chairman, RSB Group, received the coveted Deming Prize from Mr. Masahiro Sakane, Vice Chairman, Deming Prize Committee, Mr. P S Rao, President, Rane Brake Lining Limited received the Deming Grand Prize award from Mr. Masahiko Sakane, Vice-Chairman, Deming Prize Committee on behalf of Mr. L. Ganesh, Chairman, Rane Group. RaneBrake Lining and RSB Auto Division joins the elite group of 26 other companies world over and 7 other companies from India who have previously won this prestigious and the highest award in Total Quality Management (TQM). RBL becomes the third company from the Rane Group to have won DGP, making Rane Group the 1st Group in the world to have 3 DGP awards consecutively outside Japan and also the distinction of being the 2nd Group in the world to have won more than 2 DGP awards. It was in the year 1998, that the TVS Group company Sundaram Clayton (Brakes Division) bagged the Deming Prize, leading to other companies in Inida taking notice.
