POWERELEC-EAST Expo 2015 is the first ever industry specific exhibition for the Power and Electrical Industry scheduled in Kolkata during February 21-23, 2015.

The electrical and electronics industry will converge in Kolkata to demonstrate its strength and explore business opportunities in the fast developing East and Northeast regions. The occasion will be the POWERELEC-EAST Expo 2015, the International Power, Electrical and Electronics Expo, which will be held from 21st to 23rd February 2015 at the Milan Mela Exhibition Complex in Kolkata.

The untapped potential of the East and Northeast regions has always attracted industries in the past and the changed environment will enthuse the industry to make its presence felt in the region. However, with topography of the region and its distance from other regions, particularly in the case of North-Eastern Region, makes it difficult for the development to take place. Naturally, special efforts are needed to bring the regions closer to the national stream.

POWERELEC-EAST Expo 2015 is one such small step in this direction by like-minded businesses. This is the first time an industry-specific Exhibition on the sector is being held in this part of India and preliminary interaction with prospective exhibitors is very positive with encouraging response to the Event from them.

Approved by ITPQ, the Exhibition is being organized by FairAct, an event management company, in association with Calcutta Electric Traders Association and supported by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Exhibition is in line with the `Make in India' vision of the Government, where the Government is envisaging a big leap into manufacturing of products in India with a special emphasis on the Northeast region. The objective is to project the Indian capabilities not only within the region but also in the neighbouring countries.

The Expo is making special efforts to invite key visitors, not only from this region but also from the rest of India and more importantly, neighbouring countries in the SAARC and ASEAN regions. A Seminar on `Electricity Distribution -A Way Forward' is being organized on the occasion, which will be chaired by Shri SP Nigam, CMD, WBSEDCL. A number of experts from Utilities and the industry are expected to attend the Seminar.

The Exhibition will provide excellent opportunity to participants for promotion of their products and technologies.
