Senior officials announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the expansion of BPCL's Bina Refinery, which is estimated to cost Rs 50,000 crore. This significant event will take place in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, on September 14. Sagar Collector Deepak Arya informed PTI that the current capacity of the refinery's crude distillation/vacuum distillation unit is 7.7 million metric tonnes per annum, and the expansion aims to increase this capacity to 11 MMTPA.

Furthermore, PM Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the expansion project of Bina Refinery, which entails an investment of Rs 50,000 crore, along with the inauguration of new units at Hadkal village, situated approximately 70 kilometers away from the district headquarters.

Notably, the inauguration of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited's Bina Refinery was previously conducted by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in May 2011.

This visit marks PM Modi's second trip to Sagar district within the last month, emphasizing the government's commitment to the region. On August 12, he laid the foundation stone for the temple-cum-memorial complex dedicated to the revered spiritual leader Sant Ravidas.
