Mumbai, 25 November, 2013: PlastIndia Foundation has decided to retain Pragati Maidan, New Delhi as the venue for the country's largest plastic trade show, Plastindia 2015 (PI 2015), scheduled from February 5-10, 2015 which is the ninth Plastics Exhibition & Conference.

Plastindia exhibitions - a triennial affair began in 1990, as an effort to showcase the capabilities of the growing Indian plastics industry to an international audience, but quickly developed into a meeting point for the global industry. From a less than 20,000 square meters area and 486 exhibitors from overseas in 1990, the exhibition grew to more than 1,00,000 square meters, with 1600 exhibitors from 35 countries and over 120,000 business visitors in 2012.

The ninth edition of Plastindia 2015 (February 5-10, 2015) will be one of the largest shows in the plastics industry globally, with strong international participation spread over 125,000 sq. m of area, will have over 2000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and over 150,000 business visitors.

Subhash Kadakia, the President of Plastindia Foundation said that, "The ninth edition of the international plastics exhibition and conference will be held once again on the grounds that has been home to the Plastindia series of exhibitions. We did explore the possibility of hosting at Gujarat this time. The Gujarat government was also very enthusiastic and we are indeed thankful to them for their effort. But the strong preference shown by our exhibitors both domestic and foreign as well as our international partners for retaining Pragati Maidan as the venue was the reason for this decision."

Speaking on the occasion, J R Shah, Chairman-National Executive Council (NEC) said, "I am grateful to Plastindia Managing Committee for appointing me the Chairman of NEC for Plastindia 2015. PI 2015 will give us a complete overview of the changing world market, and we can look forward to a multitude of impressive innovations.
