Philips, the renowned consumer electronics brand, unveiled its plans to expand the production of its Personal Health product categories, encompassing beauty, grooming, childcare, and healthcare, within India. This expansion aligns with India's 'Make in India' initiative and will take place at the co-manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. Notably, the co-manufacturing site will now include the production of 'Mother and Childcare' products, in addition to the female and male grooming products that were already being manufactured there.

Within the beauty category, Philips will manufacture a diverse range of hair care essentials, such as hairdryers, hair straighteners, and hairbrushes, in India. Furthermore, they will continue to produce the Beard Trimmer 1000 Series and sterilizers for the mother and child care segment.

Last year, Philips announced the expansion of its factory in Chakan, Maharashtra, specifically for healthcare equipment production in India.

Addressing concerns about product authenticity in the context of local manufacturing, Deepali Agarwal, the Indian Subcontinent Head of Philips Personal Health, outlined the company's strategy to combat product counterfeiting. They plan to implement unique IDs for locally manufactured products, enabling buyers to verify their authenticity by directing them to the product page on the company's website.

With this expanded local manufacturing initiative, Philips aims to enhance innovation and better serve the needs of Indian consumers while complementing its global product portfolio. The company is also dedicated to upholding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards through sustainable innovation and packaging.

In addition to their manufacturing expansion, Philips introduced new products during the event, including the Beard Trimmer Series 1000 and the Hair Straightening Brush.
