NTPC generates 300 bn units of electricity in fastest time

NTPC Group, India's largest integrated power utility, has achieved a significant milestone in the current fiscal year 2023-24 by generating 300 Billion Units (BU) of electricity, marking the fastest accomplishment in its history. This target was reached in just 262 days, surpassing the previous fiscal year by 18 days, where the same milestone was achieved on January 5, 2023.

On a standalone basis, NTPC stations have recorded a generation of 256 BU in FY 2023-24, underscoring the company's commitment to providing reliable and affordable power nationwide. This accomplishment underscores NTPC's dedication to meeting the country's energy needs.

With an installed capacity of approximately 74 GW, NTPC is actively expanding its portfolio. The company is currently constructing over 18 GW of capacity, including 5 GW of renewable energy projects, with a goal to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.

NTPC's expansion into new business areas such as e-mobility, waste-to-energy, and green hydrogen solutions, coupled with its participation in power distribution bidding in Union Territories, reflects its commitment to diversification and innovation in the energy sector.

Constituting a quarter of India's power requirements, NTPC's diverse portfolio includes thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants. The company's emphasis on adopting best practices, fostering innovation, and embracing clean energy technologies aligns with its vision for a sustainable energy future for India.
