NTPL or Neo Tele-Tronix was founded by an eminent applied physicist Professor Manindra Nath Ray in the year 1975. His vast experience in industrial research and innovative ideas led to start of manufacturing special transformers and accessories for typical applications. NTPL also started manufacturing a few indigenous test equipments then required for plasma and high energy physics which were import substitute. With further enrichment of in-house technology NTPL entered in to the world of manufacturing electrical test and measuring equipment and pioneered the manufacturing of oil BDV test set with cast resin type HV Transformer. Gradually, NTPL started manufacturing a wide range of testing equipment catering, transformer, cable, insulator, switchgear and rotating machine industries and could established itself as one of the most reliable supplier of testing equipment like high voltage test set, primary and secondary injection set, transformer test sets etc to major industries and utilities in India and abroad. Presently, this esteemed organisation is passed on to his son Arijit Basuray. His vision is to excel NTPL in continuous innovation and R&D activities, achieving 100 per cent customer satisfaction through its high quality products.
How has been the performance of the company in FY23, so far?
Our performance in the FY23 as MSME sensed the heat of post Covid 19 pandemic economic lull but as we keep this organisation capable to cater the testing needs of modern industries and research, NTPL developed customised based test equipment be it manual, semiautomatic or a fully automated test system.
What are the advantages offered by your company and its products?
NTPL manufactures indigenously wide range of electrical test and measuring equipment to serve different types of industries, public sectors, power sectors, research academics/laboratories etc. NTPL emphasises on 100 per cent customer satisfaction through its products. Our objective is to understand customers’ requirement and provide maximum support from design, manufacture, supply, installation and its day to day successful functioning.
What are key challenges before the electrical & electronics (E&E) India? How we can overcome them?
Test and measuring equipment business prospect is directly related to growth of industries, upcoming projects in power sectors, prevailing economic scenario. We hope that keeping behind the stale situation in near past the situation will be optimistic in the coming days.
How will the government’s initiatives to promote industries like renewable, electric vehicles, batteries, ACC battery storage, automation and modernisation, etc, generate more business for Indian E&E companies?
Any growth in the above sector will obviously generate a wide platform for supply of different types of electrical & electronic products. Thus there will be a huge opportunity for us to venture in these industries and meet their electrical testing requirement.
What are the key emerging trends in the industry?
Make in India scope has encouraged MSME, start-ups to manufacture import substitutes for industries, power sectors, public sectors, research academics/laboratories etc and at the same time facing utmost challenge to keep the product quality high and price very competitive within the delivery schedule.
What will be your focus at Elecrama 2023?
We have highlighted our latest transformer test equipment set-up in this Elecrama special issue.
What are your growth plans for the company in the coming years?
NTPL is committed to serve the purpose of the customer requirement from design, manufacture, supply, installation and even post warrantee maintenance if needed, up gradation of old products. Thus there creates a scope for us to develop our products to the latest version of technology as technological excellence is our passion.
What is your vision for Indian manufacturing sector for 2025?
Renewable energy sector, shift to green energy-power sector, electric vehicles, modern battery industries, automation of products, AI support etc will be key players in vision for Indian manufacturing sector for 2025. Being MSME we will have to trust a lot to cope up with authority and dignity keeping in mind to manufacture products with attractive features at affordable cost.
