MTAR Technologies secures defence license for advanced sub-systems manufacturing

The Hyderabad-based company has announced that it has been granted a defence industrial license, which will empower it to produce various sub-systems. These include C4I SR Systems (comprising command control computers, communication intelligence surveillance, and reconnaissance systems), electronic components needed for ECM (encompassing electronic components' design, development, manufacturing, integration, and upgrading) for specialised naval equipment and their subsystems, as well as air-independent propulsion systems tailored for submarines.

According to MTAR, securing this license will significantly streamline their engagement with foreign multinational companies on diverse defence projects. The license will empower the company to establish partnerships with foreign MNCs, allowing them to participate in projects falling under the 'Buy (Indian),' 'Buy & Make (Indian),' and 'Make' categories of acquisitions. This move is expected to bolster the defence sector's contribution to their overall revenue.

Parvat Srinivas Reddy, the Managing Director of MTAR Technologies Limited, highlighted that the defence license will enable MTAR to collaborate with global MNCs to address various electronic and mechanical sub-systems. This, in turn, will not only enhance their defence sector revenue but also enable them to undertake complex sub-system level projects in cooperation with MNC clients.

MTAR Technologies Limited presently operates seven manufacturing units, including an export-oriented facility in Hyderabad. The company serves multiple sectors, including clean energy (providing civil nuclear power, fuel cells, and hydel power solutions), as well as aerospace, defence, space, and marine industries.
