MG Partners with Shoonya for sustainable EV Future in India

MG (Morris Garages) has recently announced a strategic partnership with Shoonya — Zero Pollution Mobility campaign led by NITI Aayog, alongside prominent leaders from the electric mobility sector in India. This collaboration underscores their shared commitment to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and contribute significantly to a more sustainable future.

As part of this alliance, MG Motor India will actively participate in the Shoonya campaign, sharing its pivotal advancements in the electric vehicle domain. The partnership reaffirms MG's dedication to the EV sector, highlighting its long-term vision to foster growth through innovative solutions and synergistic relationships with industry players and the government, according to a company statement.

This partnership represents a crucial step in MG's mission to expand and strengthen collaborations within the EV ecosystem, aligning with the goal of achieving pollution-free mobility in the country. Shoonya, a collective effort involving various industry partners, aims to achieve 100% electrification in urban commercial passenger and freight sectors in the near future.

The campaign brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), ride-hailing companies, charging infrastructure providers, e-commerce platforms, financiers, and fleet aggregators. With the support of around 200 corporate partners, Shoonya focuses on raising consumer awareness and driving a rapid transition towards sustainable mobility.

MG Motor India has taken a proactive approach to promote the EV ecosystem in India by introducing a comprehensive 6-way charging solution. Through its MG Charge initiative, the company has established a network comprising over 15,000 charging points, including home chargers, across India for EV users. The objective is to create a shared charging network on roads, highways, cities, apartments, condominiums, resident welfare associations (RWAs), and societies, ensuring convenient charging facilities for EV owners, as stated in the release.
