MahaTech 2011, a four-day business exposition showcasing the latest products, machinery, equipment and technological developments across various industrial sectors, will be held at the New Agriculture College Ground in Pune from December 1 to 4 between 10 am to 6 pm. This was announced by its organisers, Maharashtra Industries Directory (MID), at a press conference held in the city on November 15. "More than 250 participants and 30,000 to 40,000 industrialists will be visiting the expo from all over India and abroad. The inauguration will take place at 11 am on December 1 by Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal and Panditrao Kulkarni, Chairman, Fuel Instruments & Engineers P Ltd (FIE)," said Vinay Marathe, Director, MID.

MahaTech has, over the years, evolved as a platform for entrepreneurs who want to showcase their talent, upgrade and enhance their capacities and modernise their business. This is the seventh consecutive year of MahaTech. "The overwhelming response of the manufacturers and dealers for this exhibition is now opening up many more avenues on very big scale. Like its preceding exhibitions, it will provide an insight into the shape of things to come and inspire overall industrial growth," Marathe said.

The exhibition will be divided into four different hangers consisting of process industry equipments, electrical and electronics, engineering and machine tools and technical services, and consultants. It will be spread over an area of 50,000 sq feet, all air-conditioned. "MahaTech 2011 has a repeated participation of more than 80 per cent companies and our next show will be held from April 6 to 9, 2012 at the University College Ground Hall in Ahmedabad. In the near future there will be two to three such industrial exhibitions in the same calendar year in different cities like Aurangabad, Nashik, Goa and Baroda, among others," Marathe informed.

Maharashtra Industries Directory is a publishing firm which brought out its first directory in 1985. So far, 18 editions have been published and the 19th edition is under preparation. The directory was initiated with the objective of fulfilling the industry need for a platform for interaction. At present the company has offices and representatives in all the major cities of Maharashtra. "Our company's website www.maharashtradirectory.com has more than 1.5 crore hits every month. The company has created and hosted more than 5,000 websites on its dedicated servers and our services include web designing, web promotion, multimedia presentation, custom-based software and internet solutions, etc. Also, the 9th edition of the Gujarat Industrial Directory is under publication. Some of the companies participating in this year's MahaTech exposition include Kalyani Technologies Limited, Automatic Electric Ltd, Hegewald & Peschke (Germany), ACTA (France), Roots Multiclean Ltd, Sharon Controls (Japan), Kohler Power Systems, Kores India Ltd, PVSS Cranes, Extreme Automation, CNC Ballscrews & Bearings, Electronics Devices, Fuel Instruments & Engineers, and others. "We expect a business turnover of over Rs 500 crore among our exhibitors," Marathe added. The event is being co-sponsored by PVSS Cranes, Extreme Automation and CNC Ballscrews & Bearings Co.
