Bangalore, April 15, 2013: Lapp India, a 100% subsidiary of Lapp Group and the pioneer in introducing the concept of "Total solutions in Electrical Connectivity" in India has added another feather to its cap by receiving highest safety and standards certifications for the Bhopal and Bangalore plant. Acknowledging Lapp India's state-of-the-art infrastructure across in its manufacturing facilities and its commitment to the industry, Lapp India's Bhopal plant was awarded ISO 9001: 2008 certification on March 22, 2013 recommended by TUV India, IEC Certification for HO5-VK and HO7-VK for a range up to 6sqmm and IS 694 extension certification for producing FRLS wires up to 6 sqmm.

Founded in 1906, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is the world's leading organization for the preparation and publication of International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. IEC provides a platform to companies, industries and governments for meeting, discussing and developing the International Standards they require. Wires and cables are an integral part of each individual's life and the quality and standard of the products directly affect personal as well as property safety. Hence ensuring statutory certification for wires and cables is mandatory to help protect life and property. Conformity to the standard is ensured through regular surveillance of the manufacturing process, safety checks, surprise inspections and testing of samples drawn from the factory as well as from the market.
