Pune, March 8, 2013 - The Information Technology Centre of Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), a global fluid management company hosted its '6th IT Annual Meet' on March 4, 2013. The meet was addressed by was Dr Vijay Bhatkar, one of the most acclaimed and internationally acknowledged scientists of India. Dr Bhatkar is also best known as an architect of PARAM series of Supercomputers.

The agenda of the meet was to enlighten the employees of KBL about the significance of IT in India. Dr Bhatkar's session emphasized on the importance of mathematics in life, bio inspired innovations, and the power of a human brain to capture a multi-dimensional image. The employees were instilled with the idea of expanding their imagination and inventing something that will bring a revolution in the society.

Another important highlight of Dr Bhatkar's speech was about 'Knowledge' and 'Information'. He stressed upon the fact that 'Knowledge creates value' and 'Information creates economy'. And since an individual posses both knowledge and information, it makes 'People' the most valuable resource for any organization.

Associated with multiple prestigious institutes and a Fellow Engineer at heart, Dr Vijay Bhatkar, said, "I strongly believe that India will be the largest economy in the world by 2040 because India is 'Knowledge Destiny'. It resides in the name of India, i.e., "Bharat", 'Bha' meaning Knowledge and 'Rat' meaning the society who is engaged in the joyful pursuit of knowledge." He further added, "20 to 25% of the India's export economy is going to be IT Industry by 2020, i.e., the Knowledge economy, but at present is only 10%. There is a huge potential and I would like to appeal all the young engineers to play an active part in shaping tomorrow's India through their expertise."

Mr Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director, KBL,expressed his gratitude towards Dr Bhatkar for sparing his time to share his knowledge and experience with KBL employees. He said, "We at KBL will leave no stone unturned and will use IT as a pertinent tool for organizational growth. We will also aim to become 'the first' not only in India but in the world"
