KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a billion dollar global infrastructure EPC major, has secured three new orders from Saudi Arabia and India for supply and construction of transmission lines on turnkey basis.

The Saudi Arabia order is for 380 kV double circuit overhead transmission lines. The order is from Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Saudi Arabia. The order value is Rs 306 crore and total route length of the line is 169 km. This order is secured through the Company's joint venture with Al-Sharif Group, Saudi Arabia. The contract completion period is 24 months.

In India, the company has secured two new orders for 400 kV double circuit overhead transmission lines; of this one order is from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and other from Private customer - VISA Power.

The PGCIL order is for transmission line in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The order value is Rs 70 crore and the route length of the line is 69 km. The contract completion period is 27 months.

The Visa Power order is for transmission line from VISA Power's Raigarh Plant to New Kotra PGCIL Sub Station in Chattisgarh. Total order value is Rs 24 crore and the route length of the line is 11 kms. The contract completion period is 12 months.

Including these new orders, the current Order Book stands at approx Rs 8450 crore. "We are happy to keep the continuous momentum of new orders despite the challenging global economic environment. Our good geographical spread enables us to secure continuous orders across the globe. Last month we secured Rs 200 crore transmission line order from Ethiopia," commented Mr Ramesh Chandak, MD & CEO of the Company.
