The world of technology has brought in a lot of unexplored rooms. The manufacturing industry has not remained an exception to that and came up with the concept of “Smart Manufacturing”. The term wraps up a very broad notion including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Digitalisation, Robotics and Automation and many more. But the real question is “How will the factories of the future be like?”. To explore the answers to this question, Industrial Products Finder (IPF) – which has been serving the manufacturing sector since its inception in 1972 - is hosting the 2nd edition of 3i EXPO and “Factories of the Future” conference on June 22-23, 2023 at Nehru Centre, Mumbai, India.
Factories over the world are looking to deploy modern manufacturing technologies to make the entire production process more efficient, productive, and cost-effective while improving product quality and flexibility. Factories of the Future conference, which will be attended by key stakeholders from industry, government and associations, will bring together all the smart manufacturing solutions at one platform from different regions of the world.
Future factories, a forefront in economic development
The manufacturing industry acts as a binding pillar for the social and economic development of a country. The government of India has announced an outlay of Rs 1.97 trillion for the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes for 13 key sectors. Recently, at the end of the financial year 2022-23, on March 31, Foreign Trade Policy (FTA) was also announced aiming to increase India’s exports to $ 2 trillion by 2030. Such policies and schemes are attracting global manufacturers to expand their manufacturing footprint in India. According to the recently released Rockwell Automation report, India has the highest number of manufacturing organisations investing in technology.
As precursor to 3i EXPO, IPF hosted webinars in the past months leading to discussions on achieving manufacturing excellence, shopfloor of the future, and vision 2025 for the manufacturing industry. Eminent speakers from different industrial sectors and companies like ABB India, Festo India, Hexagon Smart Manufacturing, Wipro Pari, Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, Godrej & Boyce, Tata Technologies etc came together at a platform. They strategically discussed the challenges and solutions for the Indian manufacturing sector.
2nd edition brings in more to expect
IPF celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year with the first edition of 3i EXPO in 2022. The three-in-one event comprising Exhibition, Conference and IPF Industry Excellence Awards received an arousing response from the Indian manufacturing sectors with senior representatives from companies like Emerson, Aditya Birla Group, Reliance Industries, Mitsubishi Electric, Schneider Electric, Yokogawa India, etc visiting the event. Exhibiting companies showcased their innovative products and solutions helping the Indian manufacturing sector to gain competitiveness. Some of the exhibitors were IFM Electronic; Robro System; Bohmen Industries; Steam Solutions; Varay Image Runners; Avcon Controls; Subtronics India; Surface Modification Technologies; etc.
Various industry associations and organisations – such as Automation Industry Association (AIA), Process Plant & Machinery Association of India (PPMAI), Indian Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacture Association (ITAMMA), etc - have extended their wholehearted support for 3i EXPO. This year, the Factories of the Future conference will offer participants an opportunity to network with government decision-makers, business leaders, buyers and investors from across the region. It will definitely be a place to identify trends and issues that will shape the future factories of the global manufacturing sector. Don’t miss, be there to witness manufacturing revolution.
