The Indian heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) market is expected to grow by 30 per cent to over Rs 20,000 crore over the next two years, mainly due to acceleration in activity in the infrastructure and the real estate sectors, acccording to Dipak Barma, President, ISHRAE. He made this observation while speaking at ACREX India 2014, held in New Delhi recently.
"Between 2005 and 2010 the HVAC sector has grown to be a 10,000 crore industry, and has already notched up numbers currently, in the region of Rs. 15,000 crores. As sectors like retail, hospitality, health-care and commercial services or special economic zones (SEZs), all require HVAC systems, the HVAC market is expected to grow by 15-20 per cent year-on-year", he added.
ACREX India 2014 attracted 30,000 visitors from all across the country. Organised by the Indian Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and managed by NuernbergMesse India, the expo was endorsed by ASHRAE and supported by international industry bodies like UNEP, REHVA, KRAIA, AHRI & CAR besides the Indian Ministry of New & Renewable Energy.
ACREX India 2014 saw participation of 400 Exhibitors from more than 25 different countries including Belgium, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, also Taiwan, The Netherland, UK, UAE and Ukraine. Besides this, the exhibition hosted country pavilions from USA, Germany, Korea and China.
