Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) conducted the India Skills - National Competition on Robot System Integration, which is being organised as part of the IndiaSkills Competition 2021. The 3-day programme held at the IMTMA Technology Centre in Bengaluru from December 28-30, 2021 drew participation from 14 students.  A 3-member jury from FANUC India, Indian Institute of Technology - Kharagpur (IIT-K) and IMTMA evaluated the students. Two of the student participants would be shortlisted to participate in WorldSkills Shanghai 2022.

“The association has always been in the forefront of supporting skill development initiatives and is actively supporting Skill India through NSDC and CGSC. It is happy to have conducted such an important initiative of World Skills India in our Tech Centre. Recognising the need for ensuring availability of a large pool of workforce, IMTMA has been conducting training programmes through its Technology Centres in Bengaluru, Pune and Gurugram and imparting skill sets among engineers which will enable them to work with minimum supervision,” said IMTMA in a press release.

IMTMA has over 460 members and represents around 90% of the organised machine tool and allied equipment manufacturers in India. IMTMA is the apex body and single point of contact for the entire machine tool industry of India and plays a crucial role in the development of the metalworking industry.
