Bengaluru, December 06, 2016: IBEX Engineering, a Bangalore based company, won the ‘Best Casting of the Year’ award during the biennial ALUCAST 2016 event that concluded on Saturday, 3rd December 2016. The new casting was made for Thermal Handheld Imaging Device which is used by Ministry of Defence through Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

IBEX’s magnesium castings, produced on their horizontal cold chamber die cast machines, are the first commercial production of magnesium castings in India. Srikanth GP, Managing Director of IBEX said that, “This award is a validation of our innovation and has made everybody at IBEX and our customers immensely proud. We have demonstrated to the world that India’s engineering capabilities are at par with the Western world or better.”

Applications of magnesium casting range from critical safety parts in the automotive industry to electronic componentry in aerospace. IBEX has been positioned as a ‘High Performer’ and has been consistently received the Best Supplier Award from its key customers in India and overseas. ALUCAST 2016 is India’s biggest exhibition for the aluminium die casting industry. More than 100 exhibitors, with participation from countries including China, Japan, Germany, Switzerland etc, presented their latest products and technologies. The exhibition and conference was organised by The Aluminium Casters’ Association of India and the event was produced by Nurnberg Messe India. Over the past decade, the Indian die casting industry has grown phenomenally and is touted as the global supply hub for all auto giants. This puts the industry in an enviable position of quantum growth in the coming years.
