Honeywell Turbo Technologies partnered with Tata Motors to develop their first ever turbocharged petrol engine, the 1.2-litre Revotron engine that is powering the Zest. The engine, claimed to deliver best-in-class power and torque and a first-in-segment multi-drive mode, is equipped with a Honeywell turbocharger. Honeywell's engineering teams in Pune and Bangalore leveraged unique local capabilities and global expertise in petrol turbo technologies to come up with the turbocharger. A second generation turbo for a petrol engine, the one supplied to Tata for the Revotron motor incorporates the latest advances in aerodynamics and bearing systems, and delivers significantly improved fuel economy and driving performance in a 30 percent smaller space, lowering the overall system complexity and cost.
