HCCB breaks ground for Rs 1,387 cr greenfield factory in Maharashtra

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the bottling subsidiary of Coca-Cola in India, marked the commencement of construction for its new factory at the MIDC Lote-Parshuram Industrial Area, Khed in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The estimated investment for this greenfield project is Rs 1,387 crore.

Scheduled to begin operations in February, the facility will cover 88 acres and is anticipated to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for 350 individuals, as stated in a press release.

The factory will draw water from the Vashishti River through the MIDC pipeline. The ground-breaking ceremony saw the participation of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, State Industries Minister Uday Samant, HCCB Chief Executive Officer Juan Pablo Rodriguez, and other senior leaders from the company.

Juan Pablo Rodriguez expressed, "This significant milestone in the journey of HCCB symbolises not only the initiation of growth, sustainability, and community partnership in the fertile land of Maharashtra but also underscores the favorable business environment in the state. This upcoming facility reflects our continued commitment and belief in the potential of Maharashtra, showcasing our shared history of over two decades."

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde highlighted, "This is not only an industrial milestone but also a testament to the Government of Maharashtra’s dedication to fostering a symbiotic relationship between industrial growth and social welfare. As we propel our industrial and social development agenda forward, the state government values the role of companies like HCCB, which contribute to making Maharashtra a beacon of sustainable and equitable growth."
