Havells India Limited, one of India's leading industrial products manufacturing player in electrical segment, has expanded its switchgear manufacturing operations by putting an additional plant at Sahibabad Industrial Area, Ghaziabad (UP), to cater to both domestic and international markets.

The company has expanded the whole range of switchgears. Post expansion, the company has targeted to double the revenue of switchgear segment to Rs 1800 crore from the current topline contribution of Rs 900 crore in the next three years. The Industrial switchgear segment, which currently contributes Rs 200 crore is also expected to double at Rs 400 crore within the next two years.

Havells' Sahibabad plant is one of the most modern industrial products manufacturing plants in the country today, spread over 10.50 acre area. Amongst the prominent products, air circuit breaker (ACB), moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB), controlgear range and changeover switch, constitute the main products portfolio for Havells at Sahibabad plant. Havells has invested Rs 50 crore to setup this new state-of-the-art factory in Sahibabad.

Commenting on expansion plans, Mr Sunil Sikka, President, Havells India Limited, said, "We are continuously expanding our capacities and product portfolio to cater to the rapidly changing market dynamics and constantly focusing on R&D to bring in the paradigm shift in the industry. This new factory will give us an incisive edge over the competition due to better efficiencies in the systems backed by large scale automated operations and focus on the high end switchgear."

The company has introduced new generation series "Cosmic Star" in Controlgear segment, which covers contactor range from 4 A-630 A in 3P and 4P execution and overload relays 0.1 A-93 A in direct version and 30 A-630 A in electronic version. The new series has a robust design and manufactured to world class standards.
