Haas Automation Inc has announced its participation at the forthcoming Engimach 2011 (November 23rd-27th, 2011) to be held at the University Grounds, Ahmedabad. The company will exhibit many of its new and globally successful CNC machine tools, including the DT-1 Drill/Tap Centre, as well as examples of the all-new ST range of turning centres.

The Haas DT-1 is a high-speed drill and tap machine with full CNC milling capabilities and is undoubtedly one of the company's most exciting innovations. It has a 508 x 406 x 394 mm work area and a 660 x 381 mm T-slot table. A powerful 30-taper spindle provides 12,000 rpm and allows tapping at speeds of up to 5000 rpm. The DT-1 also comes with a high-speed 20-pocket tool changer and rapids of 61 m/min on all axes. With high acceleration and deceleration rates, cycle times are kept short and non-cutting time is reduced. The DT-1 is the perfect all-round CNC machine tool for the busy general-machining workshop.

Haas ST turning centres are the most successful lathes in the company's history. On the booth will be a Haas ST-10; a very compact CNC turning centre with a maximum capacity of 356 x 356 mm and 413 mm of swing. It has an 11.2 kW vector drive giving 6000 rpm as standard. Alongside the ST-10 will be its big brother, the ST-30.

Also on the Haas booth will be the newly revamped and improved, VF-2SS. The latest Haas high-speed VF-SS models benefit from several productivity-enhancing innovations, including enhanced motion control, better chip evacuation and improved coolant containment. The new VF range of standard vertical CNC milling machines have also been given a bold and contemporary redesign, plus better fit, feel and ergonomics, to make operation easier and more efficient.

Haas Automation began 2011 with a new marketing strategy created to capitalise on the global upswing in manufacturing investment and launch several new and innovative products, designed over the preceding two years. As a result, 2011 has been one of the busiest periods in the company's history - with strong growth coming from India, and the increased investment is set to continue into 2012. Speaking at the recent EMO 2011, Haas general manager Mr Bob Murray revealed plans for the new-year.

"Overall, Haas sales figures are at their highest since 2007," he said, "back in line with the company's 25-year growth trend. We're expecting to erect two new buildings at the Oxnard factory in 2012, so we have the space to build an average of 1300 machines a month."
