Gujarat's IT/ITeS sector gears up for transformative growth and global collaboration

The state of Gujarat is poised to lead the way in India's IT sector through the implementation of the IT/ITeS Policy 2022-27.

In the fiscal year 2021-22, Gujarat achieved a remarkable 14% annual growth in IT/ITeS exports. As part of its strategic plan, the state aims to boost these exports to Rs 25,000 crore over the next five years, creating more than 100,000 job opportunities.

With an already strong IT ecosystem, Gujarat is home to over 5,000 ICT companies of various sizes, concentrated in key cities like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Surat.

The state's dedication to technological progress is evident in its impressive Rs 5000 crore in software exports, reflecting the 14% annual growth achieved in the fiscal year 2021-22 through STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) registered units.

Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a digitally empowered India, Gujarat is focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 is playing a crucial role in showcasing the state's IT/ITeS sector. Through roadshows and delegation visits, Gujarat has engaged with leading global and national IT/ITeS companies.

Companies from France, Japan, Australia, the USA, and Italy, along with prominent Indian firms, have shown keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Gujarat. Discussions cover various aspects, including the development or expansion of Global Data Center businesses, startup support, provision of digital technology solutions, strategic partnerships, and collaboration with academia to strengthen IT-related infrastructure.

Companies like Thompson Computing, Partex NV (France), Trendmicro (Japan), INQ Innovation Global (Australia), and several US-based entities, including Beacon, Orgenetics, Precision Plastics Packaging Co, Bitscape, Inkovation, Ogoing, Careniva Inc, Corent Technology Inc, Techie-Patient Xpress, Insight Examination Services Inc, ATGC Group Inc, Rubrik, and Mexedia Net+ (Italy), have expressed their intent to undertake projects in Gujarat.

The Government of Gujarat's unwavering commitment to fostering a collaborative, innovative, and economically sustainable environment is evident in its initiatives within the IT/ITeS sector. As discussions progress with various international and national companies, Gujarat remains at the forefront of driving transformative projects and solidifying its position as an IT powerhouse in India.
