Gates India, part of Gates Corporation, USA, has announced that it plans to add hose assembly facility in Pune and Chennai. This was disclosed at a press conference recently where senior officials of the company Mr Nitin Kaul (Executive Director BPD International & Corporate Development), Mr Jaideep Wadhwa (President I&A - India), Mr Al Power (President - Industrial & Automotive Division), Mr Rajesh C Bhandari (Vice President- S&M, Gates India) interacted with the media.

The company currently has manufacturing facilities in Lalru for hoses, in Chennai for Belts, and in Faridabad for hose assemblies. Gates is presently selling Belts, Tensioners, Hose, Coupling, QRC, Hose protection products, Valves and Clamps. The company plans to launch tube fittings, oil pumps, and dry disconnect couplings in 2011. The Gates' specification for power transmission and fluid transfer products are much higher than the standard SAE and result in leak free and power saving performance for customers including automotive OEMs Tata Motors, M&M, JCB, and other end users.

Gates Corporation is celebrating its centennial year, and the company has planned a slew of events during the year to reinforce what it stood for during the last 100 years and strengthen itself for next 100 years. The company had set a target of doubling its turnover in the next 3 years, and is on course to achieving it.
