Fujitsu, the third largest IT services company in the world, has partnered with SAP to facilitate the 5th Series of the SAP ACE Awards for Public Services. SAP has been conducting the Awards for Customer Excellence (ACE) for the last 5 years. Each year they recognize Indian customers for their pioneering use of SAP software to transform their businesses. Considering the challenges faced by Public Services organizations and the environment in which they operate, this year SAP has introduced the ACE Awards for the Public Sector in addition to the Corporate Sector. The nomination phase got an excellent response from over 50 nominations in 11 award categories.

Mr Rajeev Gupta, President, Fujitsu Consulting India, gave away awards in the following categories:

• Indraprastha Power Generation Co Itd for Best Run Business in Utilities - Generation
• Maharashtra State Power Transmission Co. Itd for Best Run Business in Utilities - Transmission, and
• Central Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh for Best Run Business in Utilities - Distribution.

Addressing the occasion, Rajeev said, "Government sector including public sector is increasing incubation of technology for connecting with stakeholders, spending approximately 30% of India's total IT spending. With Software spend poised to grow at 15% and services at 20% in the sector; we are confident of bringing Fujitsu's quality of Japanese standards in servicing the sector. Hence the SAP ACE Awards were an apt platform to show our contribution to the IT fraternity."
