A delegation of French companies will attend the 14th edition of SmartCards Expo 2012, a leading international conference and exhibition on smartcard technology and applications, being organised from 10th to 12h October 2012 at NSIC Exhibition Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi. The event will host for the 2nd consecutive year, a French Pavilion organised by the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in India, bringing together leading companies from this French industry. The participating French companies are looking forward to showcase their latest technologies in the fields of smartcards, biometrics, RFID/NFC and digital security, and evaluate business opportunities in the Indian market.

The French Pavilion at the trade show will bring together 8 renowned companies from the French smartcards and secured payments industry. This presence includes companies such as Elyctis, Gemalto, Id3, Keolabs, Safran Morpho, Smartware, Tageos and VFP Ink Technologies. The main objective is to present and promote their latest technological developments in the area of Smartcards, Biometrics, e-Payments, RFID/NFC, and to share their expertise with professionals from this industry in India.

In addition to SmartCards Expo 2012, this event will open on 9th October 2012, in New Delhi, with a technical seminar which will include presentations by professionals from the Indian digital technology industry including Mrs C S Kar, General Manager - Reserve Bank of India, Mr Sanjeev Shriya, President - SCAFI (SmartCards Forum of India), Col A K Nath, Executive Director - C-DAC (Centre For Development of Advanced Computing), and Mr Vinayak Godse, Director - DSCI (Data Security Council of India). They would address the advancement of the recent initiatives taken by the Government of India like the UIDAI project (providing unique identification cards to each citizen of India); electronic driving licenses; e-passports, health cards and so on.

Furthermore, the French companies will highlight their innovations and state of the art technologies in the fields of Smartcards, Biometrics, RFID/NFC and secured payment systems to the experts and decision makers representing the digital technologies industry in India. This seminar offers an interactive platform to the representatives of French and Indian companies to showcase their innovative, state-of-the-art technologies and share their expertise and professional know-how in the growing digital industry.

India's digital industry including smartcards, biometrics, RFID/NFC and secured e-transactions is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. The French Pavilion provides a unique opportunity to these companies to work out business partnerships with key Indian players as well as in collaboration with the Government of India for the upcoming strategic national projects in this sector.
