David Proud has been appointed as Global Development Director for Process Pumps and Compressors within Altra Couplings, part of Altra Industrial Motion. Pump and compressor applications are well known for having unique requirements due to the harsh environments and heavy duty work cycles that they are typically subjected to. Fortunately, Altra Couplings represents some of the best known industrial coupling brands in the world, with components which are designed with these requirements in mind.

Altra Couplings consists of many of the world's leading industrial coupling brands including Bibby Turboflex, Huco Dynatork, TB Woods, Ameridrives and Lamiflex. Each brand offers a unique blend of expertise and industry knowledge, which allows Altra Couplings to offer the broadest range of industrial coupling products available from a single manufacturer. A number of these brands have been supplying components to the pump and compressor market for over 70 years.

Having previously filled the role of European Sales Director, David Proud is perfectly positioned to understand the unique benefits available to Altra Couplings customers and to help grow the business within his new target market. He will be responsible for working with the company's engineers to continue to expand the available product portfolio and improve the bespoke design services, whilst also liaising with customers to learn how market developments are affecting them and how Altra Couplings can support them through these changes.
