September 25, 2012: Danfoss Industries Private Limited, a leader in mechanical and electronic components and solutions, recently inaugurated a reciprocating compressor development laboratory at Maraimalai Nagar, Chennai. The objective of the laboratory is to focus on building prototype compressors and carrying out tests like: Performance, Acoustic and Reliability of the reciprocating compressors. The development laboratory will help shorten the development cycle and optimize the cost of development.

Danfoss Commercial Compressors latest laboratory facility will not only further strengthen the company's application knowledge, but also help build a customer-centric product development process. The latest addition to its global laboratory network brings together all the Indian development activities in reciprocating compressors under one roof.

"Danfoss Commercial Compressors will significantly ramp-up reciprocating product development activities in India, primarily focused on re-designing of reciprocating compressors. This project is about to start and will be one of the priorities for the Commercial Compressors division in 2013 and onwards as part of the overall development in India," said Gilles Pradel, Vice President Global R&D, Danfoss Commercial Compressors.

The opening of the compressor laboratory marks a key milestone towards achieving growth in India, particularly in the area of refrigeration. The laboratory reinforces the Danfoss presence in India and takes place just a few days after a new Cold Chain Centre was inaugurated, also in Chennai, by Danfoss India in association with Shravan Engineering Enterprises Ltd. The newly opened laboratory is 35 km from the office at Sholingalallur, Chennai.
