Cyient Semiconductor, MIPS partner for RISC-V power solutions in key sectors

Cyient Semiconductor and MIPS partner to co-develop RISC-V-based intelligent power solutions for automotive, industrial robotics, and AI-driven power delivery systems.

Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited, a rapidly growing custom silicon firm headquartered in Hyderabad, and MIPS, a global leader in RISC-V processor IP, have announced a strategic partnership to develop domain-specific ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) and ASSP (application-specific standard product) solutions. These will leverage MIPS’ Atlas range of high-performance, power-efficient processor IP. The collaboration aims to address real-time, safety-critical workloads, power management, and computational efficiency across demanding platforms in automotive, industrial, and data centre environments. Key areas of focus include Motor Control and Power Delivery in Data Centres, combining Cyient’s Analogue Mixed Signal expertise with MIPS’ Atlas CPU IP.

Targeted use-cases include motor drive control, intelligent energy management, power delivery control, and safety-critical applications. These will be available as custom ASIC or standard ASSP platforms, helping OEMs and system integrators reduce time-to-market, eliminate proprietary dependencies, and optimise platform costs.
