Chennai, October 14, 2014 - The Energy & Environment Panel of the CII Chennai Zone organised a workshop on 'Energy Efficiency' at the headquarters of Grundfos Pumps India Pvt Ltd at Thoraipakkam, Chennai. The half-day workshop helped equip companies to perceive energy efficiency through a strategic lens and align it to their core business objectives. It also familiarised companies with a wholesome energy efficiency life cycle, leaving them with a clear check-list and an understanding of the deliverables. This workshop enabled the participants to assess their current activities and evaluate the outcomes as against the outputs of their energy investments.

Grundfos India's headquarters being a LEED EB Platinum certified green building the session was followed by a presentation and tour of the company's green building and factory. This tour gave the participants a first-hand insight of how energy efficiency and green practices can be implemented and its direct benefits.

The sessions were conducted by experts and experienced professionals from reputed industries like Ranganath N K, Past chairman, CII Tamil Nadu & Managing Director, Grundfos India; Gladson Baskaran, Convenor - Energy & Environment Panel, CII Chennai Zone & Head - Technical Services, Saint Gobain Glass India Ltd; S Kannan, Director, AMSET Energy Systems & Solutions; Prakash Vankani, Associate Director, GSH Energy Services Private Limited; Sivanesan M, Senior Manager - Energy Audit, Grundfos India; Somesh Krishnan, Associate Director, Cognizant Technology Solutions; K Saravanan, Technical Services, Saint Gobain Glass India Ltd; Sashi Sairaman, Director, Mtab Engineers Pvt Ltd; and Hiran Prashanth, Counsellor, CII - Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre.

The workshop was well attended by operations and maintenance managers, energy auditors and engineers, and representatives from engineering departments of various well-known corporates and SMEs from around 70 industries in Chennai, Trichy, Hosur, Raipur and Pudukkottai.
