The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised an exclusive meeting with Mr Barry O'Farrell, Premier, New South Wales, Australia, with senior Indian industry members in Mumbai recently. Mr O'Farrell is a great friend of India and has been to India several times, and the current visit focused more on enhancing business ties between India and New South Wales.

Mr Adi Godrej, President CII, mentioned that NSW is one of the important province of Australia. New South Wales is rich in natural resources like coal, gold, copper and natural gas and has a developed IT, financial and education system. Coal, tourism, education and services and Indian companies must look at exploring opportunities there.

Mr O'Farrell in his address mentioned that NSW is looking to welcome Indian companies to come and do business. He stressed that his efforts are to encourage trade both ways and stabilize the trade imbalance.
