Ceat, India's leading tyre manufacturer, is proud to announce its partnership with MG Motors for the launch of the MG Comet, the newest electric vehicle (EV) in India. As part of this partnership, Ceat will provide tyres for the MG Comet with advanced tyre technologies that are required in electric vehicles to improve efficiency and comfort to the passengers.

Arnab Banerjee, MD & CEO, Ceat Limited, said, “We are excited to partner with MG Motors for their newest electric vehicle, MG Comet. At Ceat, we are committed to providing innovative and high-quality tyre solutions for the growing EV market in India. Our partnership with MG Motors for the Comet showcases our expertise in this area, and we are confident that our tyres will provide excellent performance and safety for this vehicle.  The launch of the MG Comet with Ceat tyres will provide a comfortable, safe, and eco-friendly driving experience for Indian consumers. Ceat remains committed to meeting the evolving needs of the electric vehicle market and supporting the growth of this industry in India. We look forward to continuing our partnership with MG Motors and supporting the growth of the EV industry in India.”

Commenting on the association with Ceat, Biju Balendran, Deputy MD, MG Motor India said, "We are happy to partner with Ceat, a globally renowned brand. We believe that together, our partnership will prove to be a testament to our mutual commitment to delivering excellence, particularly in the electric vehicle segment. The advanced EV tyres provided by Ceat perfectly align with our vision for the MG Comet, enabling unparalleled performance and safety. This collaboration showcases our brand's promise of pushing boundaries and redefining the future of e-mobility. Together, we are driving innovation, elevating customer experiences, and spearheading the growth of the EV industry in India."

Ceat has recently launched several initiatives in the EV tyre business. The company has launched India's first EV-specific tyres for cars, called EnergyDrive. These tyres are designed to offer high wear resistance, lower rolling resistance, and a longer tyre life, making them ideal for use in electric vehicles. Ceat has also launched tyres specifically designed for electric buses and two-wheelers, demonstrating its commitment to supporting sustainable transportation.

The MG Comet is a sleek and stylish electric vehicle that meets the needs of modern-day consumers. As an EV, the vehicle requires specific tyre characteristics that Ceat can provide.  Ceat’s EV tyres feature the DuraBlock technology that improves tangential and lateral stiffness by 6 per cent compared to the current summer pattern to withstand instant high torque.

Furthermore, its EasyFlex Cavity design helps in lowering rolling resistance to a significant level which helps in achieving better mileage.

As the electric vehicle market continues to grow in India, Ceat is proud to be at the forefront of innovation in this space. With their partnership with MG Motors, Ceat is showcasing its expertise in providing high-quality and performance-oriented tyre solutions for electric vehicles.
