Calcom Vision Limited, one of India’s leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers and Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) of energy-efficient electronics and consumer durables, has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, Calcom Astra Private Limited, to drive its export operations and accelerate international growth.

Calcom Astra will strengthen Calcom Vision’s presence in major overseas markets, particularly the United States and Europe, through an integrated approach to exports, sourcing, and vendor development. The subsidiary aligns with the company’s strategy to respond proactively to shifting global trade trends and rising international demand.

Rajat Behal has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Calcom Astra. With over 25 years of experience in the electronics and lighting sectors, he brings significant expertise in scaling global businesses, having worked with multinational companies from the US, Europe, and Japan. His role will be to establish Calcom Astra as a high-performing export-led division. He holds a master’s degree in Operations Management from IGNOU and is an Electronics Engineer from Pune University.

Commenting on the development, Abhishek Malik, Executive Director of Calcom Vision Limited, said: “Calcom Astra, our new export-focused subsidiary, is a key step towards becoming a trusted global electronics manufacturing partner. With a dedicated team and a defined international strategy, we aim to strengthen our presence in the US and Europe. Amid ongoing trade tensions, Calcom Astra is well-positioned to capture global demand and create resilient supply networks.”

India’s electronics export sector is gaining strong momentum. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, electronics exports from India are expected to exceed USD 120 billion by FY26.

Calcom is a leading ODM and EMS provider specialising in energy-efficient electronics and consumer durables. Established in 1976 with a strong R&D focus, Calcom has developed products such as calculators, televisions, hand mixers, vacuum cleaners, and more for global and domestic brands, including Panasonic, Osram, Bajaj, USHA, Great White, Opple Lighting, Amazon, HPL Electric & Power, and Anchor. In 2009, Calcom diversified into lighting electronics and is now among the world’s largest suppliers of lighting products to multinational brands. The company’s portfolio includes LED bulbs, luminaires, and drivers. In March 2023, it launched Calcom Taehwa Techno Private Limited (CTTPL), a joint venture with Korea’s Taehwa Enterprise, to develop efficient BLDC fan solutions for the Indian market. Calcom operates a fully integrated lighting manufacturing facility spanning 15,000 square metres in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR.
