Mayur Shah Consultants, a Mumbai based consultancy, has introduced one more service of Water Cooling Optimisation for the plastic moulding segment.

Over a period of time with increasing experience it was realized that the plastic moulding industries' productivity could be substantially increased by incorporating efficient cooling. Unfortunately, no such service was available for plastic industry up till now and the industry was plumber dependent. The tedious process of calculating flow and pressure at every node along with the frictional losses and maintaining Reynold's number for turbulent flow is taken care with the help of computer and advance software. The cooling lay out is plotted and the same is simulated till the desired performance is achieved. The first water cooling optimization project was completed in the year 2009. The results were amazing, and the productivity shot up substantially. Subsequently successful implementations were carried out at many plastic moulding industries.

The following services are provided for water cooling optimisation:

• Compute individual and total requirement of flow and pressure
• Flow rate, velocity, Reynold's number and pressure loss calculations
• Decide on pump/s, valves, pressure gauges, etc
• Decide on pipe diameters for supply and return lines, reservoir size
• Help in preparing bill of material, and
• Modification of existing set-up
