Bangalore to host INDIA BIO in February 2013

25th September 25, 2012: The Department of Information Technology, Bio-Technology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, Vision Group on Biotechnology and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications has announced that Bangalore INDIA BIO (BIB) 2013 will be held from February 4-6, 2013 at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore.

The announcement was made by Shri I S N Prasad, IAS - Principal Secretary to Government, Dept of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, in the presence of Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson, Karnataka's Vision Group on Biotechnology & CMD - Biocon Ltd, Mr Subir Hari Singh, IAS. Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, Prof Sharat Chandra - Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Microbiology & Cell Biology, IISc and Prof G Padmanaban - NASI-Chair Professor, IISc. The announcement included an overview of the activities planned during Bangalore INDIA BIO 2013 Conference & Exhibition.

In the previous edition, there were 20 conference sessions and 95 speakers from 20 different countries and over 500 delegates from 450 companies attended the conference. There were 80 exhibitors in the trade show, 450 organizations from the biotech sector participated and it attracted over 3000 business visitors. Business delegations from Pennsylvania, Georgia, Germany and UKTI participated with their member companies in a big way.

Bangalore INDIA BIO 2013, the largest gathering of the biotech fraternity, will consist of Multi-Track Conference, International Trade Show, Bio Partnering, Vision Leadership Series & Plenary Talks, CEO Conclave, Poster Session, Bio Quiz and Bio- Excellence Awards.

The 13th edition, as always, will be a platform for leading International Biotechnology sector and the Indian Life Sciences Sector to collaborate for Business growth and Knowledge sharing. It will see participation by over 20 countries including States of Georgia, Atlanta, Missouri from USA, Germany, France, UK, Holland, Spain, Italy, Korea, US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. Most of the progressive Biotech States of India will be represented by their leading Industries as well as their Senior Policy makers. There will be participation from every segment of the Bangalore Biotech cluster as well.

More than 700 delegates, 100 renowned speakers from India and abroad and more than 100 exhibitors from the best of industry, research organisations, academia, etc., are expected to participate. Many MoUs, technical tie-ups and business collaborations are expected to be signed during the 3 day event between International companies and their Indian counter parts.
