Apollo launches new range of intelligent system interfaces

November 2016: Leading fire detection specialist, Apollo Fire Detectors, has launched a new range of Intelligent Interfaces designed to complement its full range of fire detection devices.

The new range, which meets EN 54-17 and EN 54-18 standards, is the latest addition to the range of CoreProtocol® enabled devices following the launch of the new Apollo SOTERIA® detectors earlier this year. All devices are backwards compatible but, when used with CoreProtocol, provide enhanced functionality and individual module configurability to enable advanced programmable features.

With two different mounting options – faceplate or DIN-Rail, installers of the new Interfaces will find them easy to wire for faster installation due to the new colour-coded terminal blocks which provide easier identification. All new Intelligent Interfaces now have isolators as standard, improved fault monitoring including earth fault detection and an extended temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. The I/O units also have failsafe functionality in compliance with BS7273-4.

When used in conjunction with a CoreProtocol enabled panel, additional benefits include the capacity for over 250 addresses with auto-addressing and soft addressing options, longer loop capability, multi-modes of operation for improved functionality and multiple usage within a single module, and the ability for unused input channels to be disabled with no EOL.

Speaking about the new Intelligent Interface range, Charles Smith Head of Product Management at Apollo Fire Detectors, said: “The new Intelligent Interface range is an integral part of our CoreProtocol system release schedule and highlights our on-going commitment to product innovation. The new features and ease of installation further deliver on our promise to deliver world-class, customer focussed products to the market.”

Apollo is represented in India by Navi Mumbai-based Detection Instruments (India) Pvt Ltd.
