APAR addresses the energy sector's dynamic needs through continuous innovation and strategic collaborations. As the largest global manufacturer of aluminium and alloy conductors and a leading producer of transformer oils and renewable cables in India, APAR is committed to sustainable growth while adhering to ESG principles.

How are sectors like T&D, renewable energy, electrical vehicles, railways, etc. driving the demand for your products & services? Please brief us about any innovative solutions you are offering to these sectors?

APAR Industries products and services are in high demand across sectors like transmission and distribution (T&D), renewable energy, electric vehicles (EVs), and railways, driven by the need for efficient and sustainable solutions.

Key offerings include:

    • Transmission & Distribution (T&D): APAR enhances India's T&D sector with High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) conductors, optical fibre cables (OPGW), and AL-59 conductors, reducing outages and costs. They also implement underground cables in coastal areas to combat corrosion.

    • Renewable energy: APAR manufactures specialised cables for solar panels and wind turbines, including durable photovoltaic (PV) wires. They have installed 5.34 MWp of rooftop solar capacity and a wind-solar hybrid project generating about 13.5 million KWh annually.
    • Electric vehicles: APAR is ready to meet the evolving needs of the EV sector with specialised cable solutions.
    • Railways: APAR provides reliable cable solutions for railway locomotives and coaches, supporting modernisation efforts.

Some of the company’s innovative solutions include:
    • ACCC-ULS conductors: These conductors have the lowest resistance and exhibit 29.5% lower I²R losses compared to traditional ACSR Moose conductors, enabling them to transmit 2.4 times more power, significantly enhancing energy efficiency.
    • Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC): These eco-friendly conductors reduce eddy current losses, lowering operating temperatures and cooling requirements, making them ideal for transformers.
    • Fire Protekt EBXL HFFR industrial cables: These cables utilise advanced E-beam technology, offering zero halogen and low smoke emissions, heat resistance up to 120°C, and double the current carrying capacity for enhanced safety and sustainability.
    • Giga-volt hybrid cables: In the telecom sector, APAR’s giga-volt hybrid cables integrate fiber and copper conductors into a single unit, enabling efficient data and power delivery for faster and more environmentally friendly networks.
    • Natural and synthetic ester-based transformer fluids: These speciality oils are fire-safe, biodegradable, and designed for maximum efficiency and longevity.
    • POWEROIL AdBlue®: This is a VDA-approved Diesel Exhaust Fluid reducing harmful emissions in BS6/Euro 6 diesel vehicles, driving towards a cleaner future.

What are emerging trends in the industry?
The world is shifting from conventional form fossil fuel to renewables form of solar, wind, nuclear. More than 100 countries have already pledge to triple its renewable energy capacity and double the global rate of energy efficiency by 2030.
National Electricity Plan, 2024 has set a target of increasing Renewable Generation Capacity 613 GW by 2032. With the growth in electricity infrastructure lagging other clean energy technologies, grids are emerging as a major bottleneck to the energy transition. At least 3,000 GW of renewable power projects, including 1,500 GW at advanced stages, are already waiting in grid connection queues.
As per the IEA, to achieve net zero emission, there is need of massive capital outlay. It estimates that around $ 4.5 trillion is required to be invested into renewable energy by 2030 and new 50 million miles of transmission lines are required
According to a McKinsey report, with the emergence of generative AI (gen AI), the demand for data centres is set to rise even higher. Demand for data centres are expected to triple by 2030. This will create further demand for energy infrastructure space.
