Frankfurt, November 1, 2016 – The formnext showcase “AM Meets Aerospace” promises to offer behind-the-scenes insights into how aerospace companies around the world are engaging in additive manufacturing. Leading organizations such as Airbus, MTU, and the German Aerospace Centre will be on hand to demonstrate how additive methods and modern product development are opening the door to innovations in their industry.

Formnext is an international exhibition and conference on the next generation of manufacturing technologies scheduled for November 15-18, 2016 at Frankfurt, Germany.

The exhibits presented on the 100 square meters of showcase floor will include 3D-printed components that have already been built into operational aircraft and satellites. Cutting-edge developments designed for future applications – such as double fuel connectors, drive system parts (borescope bosses), and satellite mounts – will also be on display.

This showcase is being organized in cooperation with the Hamburg-based Laser Zentrum Nord (LZN). “The aerospace industry always leads the way when it comes to new technologies and materials,” points out Felix Hammerschmidt, LZN’s head of sales and industrial 3D-printing applications. “It has key insights to offer other sectors in connection with additive manufacturing, as well.”
