Braunschweig/Germany, 19 April 2013 - At first sight, they look like simple dice - but in fact, they are highly precise measuring equipment: AICON's measuring adapters for the measurement of geometric features such as holes, edges, corners or surface points. And AICON has had this product development patented. AICON Patent is now clearly readable on every adapter!

The patented adapters are applied for 3D coordinate measurements with a hand-held digital camera, as for example the AICON measurement system DPA. In such a measurement, several photos of the object are taken from different directions. These photos are automatically analyzed. As a result, the user gets processable 3D data, accurate to the micrometer. Typical fields of application are inspection, deformation measurement, referencing of 3D scanners, and component alignment. The measurement adapters are used to signalize the required measuring points.
