Actalent, CMTI forge partnership to advance smart manufacturing

Actalent, a subsidiary of Allegis Group, unveiled a three-year partnership with the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI) aimed at enhancing research and development efforts within the manufacturing technology sector.

This collaboration will harness the combined resources and expertise of both organisations to expedite the adoption of smart manufacturing practices, facilitating a more streamlined, efficient, and cost-effective transition for their global clientele, as stated by Actalent.

Furthermore, Actalent and CMTI will embark on joint research endeavours encompassing a diverse array of focus areas, including design and manufacturing engineering, smart manufacturing, predictive analytics, green manufacturing, industrial ergonomics, and more, as detailed in their announcement.

CMTI, a premier autonomous research and development institution under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, specialises in modernising legacy manufacturing equipment to align with Industry 4.0 standards, integrating digital connectivity and server integration using open-source software (OSS).

According to a statement, the institute routinely establishes benchmarks for industrial design on a national scale, with the ultimate goal of providing cost-effective solutions to both domestic and international partners.

Nagahanumaiah, Director at CMTI, expressed, "Actalent's proficient consulting teams and facilities will complement our wealth of scientific knowledge and intellectual property, particularly as the transition to smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 gains momentum in the years ahead."
