Accenture and Siemens launch group to transform engineering and manufacturing

Accenture and Siemens have announced the formation of the Accenture Siemens Business Group, a dedicated business practice aimed at revolutionising engineering and manufacturing through automation, industrial AI, and software solutions.
The new business group, introduced at Hannover Messe 2025, will bring together 7,000 professionals with expertise in manufacturing and IT to co-develop and market AI-powered solutions. The initiative will leverage Siemens Xcelerator portfolio and Accenture’s data and AI capabilities to help businesses accelerate digital transformation.

Driving innovation in industrial technology
Roland Busch, President and CEO, Siemens, highlighted the collaboration’s potential, "By strengthening our partnership, we combine Siemens' expertise in software, automation, and industrial AI with Accenture’s strength in applying data and AI in engineering and manufacturing. This will empower businesses across industries to integrate AI at the core of their operations."
Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO, Accenture, emphasised the impact on digital transformation, "Engineering and manufacturing are the next digital frontier. Our partnership with Siemens will help clients optimise costs, enhance efficiency, and strengthen their digital core for continuous reinvention."

Proven success with KION Group and Navantia
Accenture and Siemens have already collaborated on projects delivering measurable benefits:
KION Group: Implemented Siemens Teamcenter as a common product lifecycle management (PLM) platform, enhancing engineering processes with simulation, generative AI, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Navantia: Developed a digital twin platform using Siemens Teamcenter and Capital Logic Designer, improving product design quality and reducing design and manufacturing costs by 20%.

Expanding solutions for multiple industries
The Accenture Siemens Business Group will develop software-defined products and factories for sectors including:
Aerospace & defence
Automotive
Electronics & semiconductors
Industrial machinery
Heavy equipment & transportation

Key focus areas include:
1. Engineering & R&D: Creating global engineering capability centers, optimising MBSE, and advancing software-defined vehicles (SDV) for automakers.
2. Manufacturing: Enhancing real-time manufacturing execution systems, AI-powered shopfloor operations, and cybersecurity solutions for operational technology.
3. Industrial Asset Management: Providing after-sales service, maintenance, repairs, and overhaul solutions.

The group will also introduce managed security services, including Accenture’s Managed Extended Detection and Response (MxDR) platform, to mitigate cyber risks in engineering and manufacturing systems. A demonstration of their IT/OT cybersecurity approach is available at Siemens’ Hannover Messe booth (Hall 9, Booth 53).

Through this alliance, Accenture and Siemens aim to accelerate digital transformation in industrial manufacturing, helping businesses unlock new efficiencies and innovation at scale.
