Solar PV maker Waaree Energies launches lightweight flexible modules

Mumbai, December 7, 2018: Waaree Energies have launched their new series of indigenous flexible modules, the Waaree Light-Weight (WLW). The indigenous modules can be customised to any shape and colour. Coupled with their peel and stick nature and the light weight, WLW modules are easy to install and can highly benefit the transportation sector in India.

The modules have been specially designed for lightweight applications, overcoming the limitations of the heavy glass modules. The WLW modules find their applications across sectors like BIPV (Building-integrated photovoltaics) and architecture, and for transportation solutions including e-vehicles and refrigerated trucks. The modules can also be used in traffic lights and other similar solutions.

The WLW modules are tailor-made as per consumer requirements, and have been developed for customised applications. In addition, WLW series also helps save balance of solar (BOS) costs for the consumers.

Sunil Rathi, Director, Waaree Energies said, “Waaree Light-Weight Module is a result of our ambition to become an active partner in India’s transformation to a global solar hub. We wanted to create a module that could be customised based on consumer needs and overcome the challenges that the rigidity of conventional modules presents. WLW modules are completely indigenous and are built on our in-house technology and R&D.”

With the implementation of safeguard duty and the constant government support, the focus has been brought back to domestic solar manufacturers. We are enthused about getting a more level platform for showcasing our capabilities, and WLW modules are a perfect highlight of what we can offer”, he added.

With WLW, Waaree Energies is looking at an exponential growth trajectory with significant contribution towards their order book in the near future, based on the potential of their new offerings. Built on high standard in-house technology and extensive R&D, WLW can help deliver savings on electricity bills among other cost savings. The indigenous module will be manufactured at Waaree Energies’ manufacturing unit in Surat.
