IMI Precision Engineering opens new plant in Noida

Leading pneumatic motion and fluid control technologies company IMI Precision Engineering has opened the company's new 67,000-sq ft manufacturing unit in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This plant will be IMIÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s second largest manufacturing site in the Asia Pacific region.

Leading pneumatic motion and fluid control technologies company IMI Precision Engineering has opened the company's new 67,000-sq ft manufacturing unit in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This plant will be IMI’s second largest manufacturing site in the Asia Pacific region.

IMI Precision is an ancillary arm of the United Kingdom based-engineering group IMI plc, which has a turnover of £1.75-billion. It has sales and service networks in 75 countries including in UK, India, China, USA and Germany. The company houses brands namely IMI Herion, IMI Maxseal, IMI Norgren, IMI Buschjost and IMI FAS. The new ‘built to suit’ plant has adopted lean principals throughout and imitates the best methods applied at its many manufacturing centres throughout the world.

As reported, Kuldeep Bhan, Managing Director, IMI Precision Engineering India said, “Our expansion plan is aligned with the government’s ‘Make in India’ strategy and is now moving to the execution phase. Over the next few years, we will be further increasing our product and technical offering.” IMI will be able to reduce lead times by localising production of its most in-demand pneumatic motion and fluid control components and providing locally built products matching global manufacturing standards.

According to reports, Massimo Grassi, Divisional Managing Director stated, “This purpose-built facility in India places the company in an ideal situation to expand the business in the industrial automation, commercial vehicle, rail, life science, energy and food and beverage sectors.” This new plant will be an integral part of IMI’s worldwide strategy to bring about growth, customer satisfaction and quality of operation.
