HMS Industrial Networks acquires Germany’s Beck IPC

HMS Industrial Networks has acquired Beck IPC GmbH, the Germany-based provider of technology and solutions for embedded control and industrial M2M communication, including solutions for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The base technology IPC@CHIP is the core of Beck IPC’s product offering for industrial OEMs. With IPC@CHIP, Beck offers a compact embedded programmable platform solution in the form factor of a chip. Tailor-made for embedded IIoT applications, IPC@CHIP can be used as a PLC, a communication controller or a combination of both, enabling OEMs to create IIoT solutions with reduced development efforts and fast time to market.
Beck IPC’s portfolio also includes the comprehensive com.tom gateway series and the associated cloud portal. The com.tom gateways form an extensive line of industrial networking and Edge gateways for IIoT applications, targeting factory and process automation. The cloud portal provides all elements needed to easily set up an industrial IoT application, where the com.tom cloud broker manages all inbound and outbound data, including all configuration and security aspects.

On the financial side, Beck IPC GmbH is expected to have net sales of Euro 6-7 million in 2018, which will add to HMS´s top line growth.
HMS Industrial Networks is the leading independent supplier of products for industrial communication including remote management. HMS develops and manufactures solutions for connecting automation devices and systems to industrial networks under the Anybus, IXXAT and eWON brands. Development and manufacturing take place at the headquarters in Halmstad, Sweden and in Ravensburg, Germany. Local sales and support are handled by offices in Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, UK, and USA. HMS reported sales of Euro 101 million in 2016.
