As part of its expansion plan in India, the Germany-based HARTING Technology Group has expanded the production capacity of its Chennai plant, which was officially opened in February 2017.

 

HARTING sees good growth potential in the country, especially in the important markets of mechanical and plant engineering, power generation and transportation. The production facility has now been doubled in size by some 1,200 square meters, bringing it to a total of 2,400 square meters. Additional hires are planned for the current financial year, with the number of employees slated to be increased from 40 to 60.

 

"We are pleased with this continued good demand for HARTING products. This expansion strengthens our global HARTING production network," said Andreas Conrad, Operations Director.

 

HARTING Technology Group is one of the world's leading providers of industrial connection technology for the three lifelines of data, signal and power. It has 13 production plants and branches in 43 countries. In addition, the company also produces retail checkout systems, electromagnetic actuators for automotive and industrial series use, as well as hardware and software for customers and applications in automation technology, robotics and transportation engineering.

 

India was the partner country of the Hannover Messe trade show in 2015. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in visiting the HARTING booth on the first day of the fair at the time.
